This one is a majorly popular cafe, it was crazy. Located at Annandale, which looks deceptively like a quiet neighborhood, there were quite a few cafes that we saw had queues stretching far and wide. It was a Sunday morning, so no surprise there, but despite ST being early and requesting a table for us, when we arrived, it was an additional half an hour's wait.

And we ordered take away coffee just so we can have something while waiting. And checking out some the hardworking blokes making coffee~

Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of our takeaway coffee. We all know they don't bother with latte art when it's going to be covered with a lid anyway, so it doesn't really matter. This was taken through the sip hole.

It wasn't bad waiting for half an hour, especially when you have company to talk to and a menu to check out. Deciding what to eat wasn't hard either. I have a simple rule when ordering: if there's duck, order duck. If there's pork belly, order pork belly. It's only when those two options aren't available that I'll have to seriously think. Usually, stick to specials~

We scored a table finally! Despite the long queues, the staff were really efficient in terms of keeping the flow going. A really friendly staff came to talk to us quite a bit, just letting us know miscellaneous information, like how they use Morgan's coffee blend instead of the stronger sort like Toby's Estate because it seemed to suit Annandale dwellers more. I must say, I prefer the lighter sort of blend, so Morgan's was good.

Baked breakfast because it came in a cast iron pan, which is always interesting! Soudough with pesto, yum.

What did I say about menu choosing? :D True to words, I got the duck. Did not regret the choice one bit, it was so awesome, it had ST and me simply in bliss. The exact description was freerange confit of duck on roast beetroot puree with hazelnut and radicchio salad with a red wine vinaigrette. Does that not sound absolutely sublime already??

Hot cakes with berries compote. This was a nice finish (we shared), it's like ending a meal with a dessert... except this was technically a breakfast which turned into brunch. I was recently asked if people normally have dessert during lunch. I don't see why not =)

It is hard to make this look nice in a photo, but taste-wise, it's all there!

Cannot resist posting another photo of the duck though. The meat was sliding off the bone and even the bones were quite edible, they were so soft!

Feel the love? We didn't plan to order this, but we saw it being brought to another table and melted at how adorable it was, sitting in its little fancy cup.

Very turkish feel, that cup and saucer. Piccolo lattes are so cute.

Thinking of going back? Their special menu looks enticing.

Lots of love for Revolver! Definitely one of our top cafes visited! Any cafe that does duck for breakfast is really up there for me. I'm biased, but hey, you can't say no to duck, especially not one that's done as well as Revolver.
Long wait might be hard, but all you need is a bunch of friends to talk to, plus even though it's so busy, the staff won't chase you out (though we, being nice, felt obliged to leave fairly soon after finishing our meals... and because we had to head to badminton anyway). The food comes out quickly too, we were seated right at the window where the kitchen was, so we had a good look at all the dishes that came out. Menu is so extensive, I'm sure we'll revisit it just to try out the different dishes.
